Hands of a Sportsman will have a Quail Hunt at Devil's Rib Preserve on Saturday, January 3, 2026 for one disabled hunter.

Our HOAS hunter selection committee will select one (1) applicant that must need the use of a track-chair for this hunt. This individual must also be able to safely handle a shotgun in-order to qualify for this hunt.

Hands of a Sportsman is joining Coalfields Special Sportsman and other private landowners to hold a turkey hunt in April 2026. This hunt will take place in Buchanan County Va on April 10-12, 2026 for 3 selected hunters and their family.

Coalfields Special Sportsman Hunts provide challenged youth and able body youth the opportunity to take in a unique part of Virginia's spring turkey hunting season.


Our goal is to provide each hunter with inspiration, hunting
education, the opportunity to get outdoors and experience turkey
hunting, while adapting to their individual needs. Many kids would otherwise never have the opportunity to enjoy the tradition of turkey hunting without these special hunts.


These adventures make life long memories for everyone involved.

The hunts are conducted on private property generously donated by local landowners.
An experience hunter / guide will assist each participant. Hunters will be provided with accessible hunting blinds and transportation
to each location.

Each youth may be accompanied by their parents or guardians
throughout the event.

Lodging, meals, license, equipment for hunt will be provided free of charge.

Hands of a Sportsman will be partnering with Eatman Brothers Sportsman Association in hosting a Youth Turkey Hunt in Stanly County on 4/4/26 for youth that have never harvested a turkey.

Applicants must be less than 16 on 4/4/26.

Our HOAS hunter selection committee will select (4) lucky youth hunters for this hunt.

Hunter will be responsible in obtaining a NC Big Game Report Card prior to the hunt.
Each hunter will be paired with a guide for an exciting day of chasing turkeys!!

Sept 20, 2025 - Frank Wall Memorial Youth Deer Hunt located in Richmond County along the Pee Dee River.

Hands of a Sportsman is excited to partner with Prospect Hunting Club located on the Pee Dee River to hold our first youth hunt in this area.

Arrive Sept 19th evening for safety instructions, target practice and general orientation. Hunt will be Saturday morning and evening. Hunters will depart Sunday morning.

Hunt is open to FIVE (5) able body or challenged youth. Lodging , food and quartering of deer will be provided.

Hands of a Sportsman is excited to hold the 9th Annual Anthony Barnes Disabled Hunt on September 13, 2025; hère in Rowan County at the Rowan County Wildlife Club. This is a one day gun hunt on the 1st day NC bow season. The hunt is open to all challenged youth, adult and veterans regards where you live in the USA.

Hunters must fill out this application to be eligible for the hunt.

Our HOAS hunter selection committee will select (10) lucky hunters for this hunt. Although if we are able to get more volunteer guides, that number may increase.

Hunters will arrive Friday afternoon for a safety meeting, meal, meeting your guide and planning for the next days hunt. Hunt will be on Saturday, morning and afternoon.

Hands of a Sportsman will provide Friday supper; lunch and a late quick supper on Saturday; lodging if needed along with skinning of harvest.

Hands of a Sportsman has partnered with Camp Jacob in Dickenson County Va to host a youth deer hunt on September 26-28, 2025.

Hunt includes an opportunity for three (3) challenged or able body youths to enjoy a weekend of deer hunting.

Each family will be provided a person guide for the hunt, lodging for two (2) nights, processing/quartering of the deer and meals during your stay.

Location: Camp Jacob, Va

Our Coalfields Special Sportsman Hunts provide kids and adults with “Special
Needs” the opportunity to take a unique part in Virginia Deer Hunting season.
Many Special Sportsman would otherwise never have the opportunity to
enjoy one of our states tradition of Deer hunting.

Our goal is to provide each hunter with inspiration, hunting safety education
and the opportunity to get outdoors and experience Deer hunting, while
adapting to their individual needs.

These adventures make life long memories for everyone involved. These

A experienced hunter / guide will assist each participant.

On May 10, 2025 Cabarrus Outdoors is offering a day on the lake in conjunction with Hands of a Sportsman.

The event is for any child 10 yrs or older. Parents or a guardian must accompany their child and the child must be able to swim.

We will provide 6 kids a day of kayaking, jug fishing (catch, clean and cook)

The event will be from 8am till 3pm. Families are welcome to stay longer if the fish are biting.

Lunch will be provided for all attending.

Location for event is Palmerville rd at Badin Lake Access.
