November 2019 Newsletter

Think about this for a minute ...

You might not think you have it so bad after all ....

You want a drink so you lean over to the table pick up the glass and take a sip, you have an itch so you scratch it, you want to talk so you open your mouth and speak, you want to stand so you do and stretch, you want to leave the room so you walk out the door, you want a big cuddle so you walk to your mom and put your arms around her ..... all these things are so easy and simple ...... now take a minute and imagine your body doesn’t work, you can’t move, you can’t speak, you can’t eat without help, you can’t scratch that itch, you depend on others for such simple things, you are trapped... Every minute of every day ... imagine ... my child is at war with his body every day ...

my child is my hero ...

my child is my life...

2019 Cowden Plantation Hunt

Our 2019 Youth Hunt from the weekend at the Cowden Plantation was fantastic! The kids had fun shooting their guns, some shot their first deer, some saw their first wild pig and plenty of smiles to go around. Big thank you to the volunteers, guides that assisted each hunter and of course the Jarrett Family for hosting this event. Last, we want to thank the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation for their support for sponsoring this first of many hunts in SC.

2019 October Dream Hunt at Clay Road Farms

On Oct 19, 2019 Hands of a Sportsman and Clay Road Farms held our 1st of 3  Dream Hunts this fall hunting season. Part of the Dream Hunt experience is for these families  to have a special weekend geared towards spending time together. We definitely feel blessed we can host a weekend  just  to reconnect! Big smiles is our reward and the harvest is just the bonus from a great weekend spent together as a big family!

LANDOWNER DONATION

Brasfield & Gorrie Fundraiser 2019

Definitely giving the good Lord all the glory. We had been fortunate to be selected by Brasfield & Gorrie, L.L.C. Contruction group for their annual Corn hole tournament fundraiser in Charlotte NC this year.  Also big thank you to Lloyd Rigdon for his involvement and putting our organization in front of like minded company’s that are interested in helping us put smiles on those taking on some of life’s toughest challenges. With that in mind, we are humbled that this company could see what we see in our organization and gave us a check for 30k.
