Dream Hunt At Clay Road Farms

October’s Dream hunt for 5 amazing hunters put on by Hands Of A Sportsman and the Clay Road Farms Hunting Club was a huge success. The hunters experienced the most important thing about the outdoors. Fellowship, the woods and every hunt is a successful hunt.  For these families it's an opportunity to spend time together in the woods with some normalcy in their lives. There are people out there who love what they do, want to share it with you, and inspire you to pass this on for the future of others. Their mission is to get the disabled, youth, disabled veterans, or those who have a hard time getting into the woods out there. If you know someone who would like to sign up as a volunteer, guide, or a hunter you can log onto handsofasportsman.org

We can't thank everyone enough in helping with this hunt.

Inspire. Motivate. Overcome.

Sydney Warren from SC got her first buck and deer ever! How awesome is that!

Another first harvest goes to Mitchell Banks with this nice doe.

Lars Thrift brought down a good-sized doe. Congratulations.

Hands of a Sportsman Walburg Youth Hunt

The weekend of October 5th & 6th, Kristin Kiger went out to change the lives of 10 kids with a hunt sponsored by Hands of a Sportsman.  It was a very successful event that we’ll just let Kristin sum up in his own words. “The thought process going into this hunt was to have ten kids get as excited and have the drive to get out of the house and hunt like I did when I was their age. What better way to do that than for these kids to have their own gear to hunt with. I also wanted them to be able to hunt even after the actual hunt. I truly believe that we accomplished this goal with these kids. As of October 30, seven of the ten kids have shot a deer and are still hunting. I have also gotten word from new parents in the community that currently do not hunt and have heard about this event that want their kids to get involved next year. So did we Inspire, Motivate, Overcome to ten kids, their families and new families? I would say Mission Accomplished!”

Volunteer Highlight

Two volunteers, Larry Price and Bradley Harrington of Taylorsville went above and beyond by going out & collecting donations for material to build HOAS a portable hunting blind accessible for our disabled hunters. These two extraordinary volunteers spent a few weeks building this blind.
