Kenny and his wife Sharron along with their three children have lived in Rowan County, NC since 2001. Kenny grew up hunting and fishing around Mecklenburg County with his father and two brothers and developed a life-long passion for the outdoors. He attended Georgia Southern University and upon graduation in 1986 he started a 14 year career with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Kenny helped manage a state park while also serving as a Deputy Conservation Officer.

Kenny returned to his home state of North Carolina in 2001when he was offered a position in Salisbury, NC. After seven years of service as the Recreation Program Manager for the City of Salisbury, Kenny accepted the position of Director of the Statesville Civic Center in Statesville, NC where he continues to work today. His volunteer service also includes; Chairman of the Rowan County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited 2008 to present and he serves on the Board of Directors for SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now) of Iredell, County.

Kenny summed up his passion for H.O.A.S., “Watching the sun rise over a distant hill; feeling its warmth on a chilly morning; the smell of the damp forest floor; the sounds of the birds awakening for another day; the beautiful picture of the dawning sky that God just created; that is an experience that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy”.
